It’s one of the rules of Uno. You can play any card of the same number the same way you would play a card of the same colour. Whatever cooour was last played is the new colour unless the next player has the same number to do it again.
Can you stack similar cards in Uno?

Simple. Play a card with the same value as the previous card to be played. The colour in play is now whatever the latest card’s colour was. E.g. a green 5 was just played, it is your turn, and you hold a blue 5. Playing the blue 5 will change the colour to blue I’m a little confused by the question.
